Jorge E. Pérez-Casellas is an Of Counsel of Nolla, Palou & Casellas, LLC.
He currently represents a wide variety of clients in the areas of banking and finance, corporate assessment and commercial negotiations. He is experienced in the development and drafting of financial obligations, both at the consumer and commercial levels. As a Public Notary, he develops and perfects the liens and guarantees to secure consumer, commercial and construction obligations. Mr. Pérez-Casellas also deals with real estate transactions, including the transfer of commercial property and the drafting and negotiation of lease agreements for industrial enterprises as well as commercial center’s agreements throughout the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
During the last seven years, Mr. Pérez-Casellas has litigated cases dealing with corporate and banking controversies. He also practices general civil litigation, specifically in cases related to products liability and employment. He has argued before the Puerto Rico Court of First Instance, the Puerto Rico Court of Appeals, the Puerto Rico Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
Prior to joining Nolla, Palou & Casellas, LLC, Mr. Pérez-Casellas practiced real estate, corporate and administrative law, and civil and commercial litigation with Meléndez-Pérez, Morán & Santiago law offices, and afterwards, with his own private firm, Pérez Casellas Law Office. Mr. Pérez- Casellas has offered seminars to clients and the general public on different commercial topics such as landlord-tenant relationship and eviction alternatives.
Mr. Pérez-Casellas obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration with concentration in Finance from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus and a Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Puerto Rico School Of Law. He is a member of the Puerto Rico Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association and the Notary Association of Puerto Rico.
